The CIRCUBATT project is inviting stakeholders across the battery value chain to join its second-life battery focus group. These sessions will help co-create practical solutions for battery reuse and innovative business models such as Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS).
If you work in battery design, energy storage, recycling, or policy, this is your opportunity to contribute directly to EU innovation. Participants will also receive a £30 Love2shop voucher.

Why are we hosting a second-life battery focus group?
Batteries that reach the end of their first life often still retain 70–80% of their capacity. Instead of being discarded or recycled too early, these batteries can be repurposed for second-life uses such as energy storage, grid support, or backup power.
Through this second-life battery focus group, CIRCUBATT seeks to identify current challenges, opportunities, and new value creation models. This co-design process will directly feed into Horizon Europe project outputs and European policy recommendations.
Who should join the focus group?
We welcome participation from a broad range of stakeholders involved in the battery life cycle. This includes manufacturers, energy providers, recyclers, electric vehicle integrators, researchers, and public authorities. Your insights will help shape the future of battery reuse models that are circular, scalable, and economically viable.
If you are working in or around the battery ecosystem, your contribution is essential.
What will you gain from participating?
The second-life battery focus group will be held online. Sessions will last approximately 90 minutes and will include structured discussions on barriers, enablers, and business model innovation. You’ll join a diverse group of professionals and contribute to shaping meaningful, applied results.
As a thank-you, each participant will receive a £30 voucher.

About the CIRCUBATT project
CIRCUBATT is a research and innovation project funded under the Horizon Europe programme. The project focuses on improving battery circularity by enabling reuse, extending lifespans, and designing systems that reduce waste and increase environmental performance. It aligns with key EU policy frameworks such as the European Green Deal, the Circular Economy Action Plan, and the EU Battery Regulation.
Through co-design and collaboration, CIRCUBATT aims to deliver solutions that are technically viable, economically sound, and environmentally responsible. Stay updated on our progress and upcoming events by following us on LinkedIn and visiting our website.
