The CIRCUBATT consortium gathered in Madrid on 25 and 26 June 2026. The meeting marked the project’s M18 milestone and the close of its first reporting period. Specifically, it brought together all partners to review progress, align on shared priorities, and prepare for the upcoming interim report to the European Commission.
Why this meeting matters
CIRCUBATT brings together a multidisciplinary consortium. Together, partners are working toward a more circular battery value chain, covering reuse, repair, remanufacturing, recycling, and resource efficiency. Reaching the project’s midpoint is therefore a valuable opportunity: partners can look back on progress made together and prepare for what’s ahead. As a result, the project’s work continues to contribute to European industrial competitiveness and to the goals of the Green Deal.
Inside the two day programme
Euro-Funding hosted the meeting at the Comet Retiro venue in Madrid. It opened with an overview of overall project progress, including key consortium wide achievements and the critical challenges ahead. After that, partners moved into dedicated progress review sessions for each work package.
On the first day, partners reviewed progress on WP1 and WP2, including a live demonstration of the project’s platform. Later, the day closed with a walking tour of Madrid, where partners enjoyed a true taste of local culture over a Spanish paella dinner together.
The second day continued with progress reviews for WP3 and WP4. It then turned to communication and dissemination, with a dedicated WP5 session covering an update on ongoing outreach activities and plans for upcoming participant video interviews and promotional content. The day also included a WP6 workshop on interim reporting requirements, financial reporting preparation, and internal deadlines. Finally, the meeting closed with an open consortium discussion and an action plan for the months ahead. Looking ahead
Overall, the Madrid meeting reinforced the consortium’s collaborative approach. CIRCUBATT is now entering the second half of its first reporting cycle, and each work package team is aligned on a clear roadmap for the next six months.
